Cartoon vs. Editorial // Blog #7

.) The cartoon i found was about gay marriage and how gay people still aren't getting a say in their marriage. My editorial is about how the supreme court is slowly getting closer to allowing same-sex marriage in all states.
.) In the cartoon, it shows a form for someone's wedding day and how if the person getting married is straight, everything is easy, but if the person is gay, it takes a lot more steps to actually get married. I believe both the cartoonish/author want same-sex marriage to be legal everywhere in America.
.) They are both alike because they both talk about how complicated it is for gay people to get married. They are different because the editorial talks about how some states are ignoring appeals from other court rulings.
.) I believe the cartoon is more effective because it's straight to the point and gives a clear messages about how complicated gay marriage is due to the ban in certain states.
.) A variety of people are able to understand pictures better than editorials and vise versa. I believe cartoons allow more creativity in the topic, but also editorials can give more information about a situation than a picture can.
